4 years agoJosh Tomlin won the last spot in the Indians' rotation, causing Trevor Bauer to be demoted to the bullpen. Despite putting up only so-so spring stats (1-0 record, 4.67 ERA, 1.56 WHIP), the team felt he was better suited to the unique rigors of being a fifth start than Bauer, something that should work in Tomlin's favor later this season. One positive that can be taken from his spring stats is that they have been fueled by his inability to keep the hits from piling up (his BABIP was .423) as opposed to give up big hits. Couple that with a sharp 19/3 K/BB ratio, and Tomlin looks poised to work his way past his spring issues and be a fantasy contributor.--Tony
