Josh Jacobs 2023 Outlook: Looks To Repeat Last Year's Success With Contract Status Settled
1 year agoJosh Jacobs was one of the most valuable - and surprising - fantasy performers of the 2022 NFL season. Jacobs played the part of a legitimate bell-cow running back in head coach Josh McDaniels' first year at the helm of the Las Vegas Raiders. In his fourth year in the NFL, Jacobs logged career highs practically across the board in 2022, including rushing attempts (340), rushing yards (1,653), and TDs (12). He finished the year as the overall fantasy RB1 in Standard Scoring leagues and the NFL's leading rusher in what was by far his most productive season as a pro. The Raiders have made no moves in the offseason to add running back depth behind Jacobs, so he should once again be in for a large workload in this Vegas offense. After spending the offseason and the large majority of training camp locked in heated contract negotiations with the Raiders front office, Jacobs recently signed an amended one-year contract that will keep him in silver and black in 2023. He'll look to repeat last year's success in what should remain one of the league's true workhorse roles.
