Josh Donaldson Hoping 2017 Second Half Surge Continues
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson didn’t have the 2017 season fantasy owners were hoping for. Injuries plagued the 32-year-old during the campaign’s first half, but his second half performance was one that he certainly hopes to continue in 2018. Donald’s final statistics for the season saw him carry a .270/.385/.559 slash line with 33 home runs, 65 runs scored, and 78 RBI across 496 plate appearances, but it’s the aforementioned final months of the year that buoyed those numbers. The last two-and-a-half months of the regular season saw the former American League MVP boast a .276/.386/.606 slash line with 24 home runs, 46 runs scored, and 53 RBI across 303 plate appearances. Donaldson could end up underperforming in relation to his normal draft pick investment, but the free agent-to-be makes for an excellent choice as a top five third basemen in the early-to-middle second round of your draft.
