Josh Allen 2020 Outlook: Improvement Or Regression?
5 years agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen led the team to a playoff berth in 2019 while also emerging as a viable fantasy option. In his second season in the league, Allen saw improvements across the board, throwing for 3,089 yards and 20 touchdowns. His nine interceptions were a step in the right direction from what we saw during his rookie year, and his elevated completion percentage of 58.8 was also welcomed. The Wyoming product's decision making is questionable at times, but he makes up for it with his elusiveness running out of the pocket, leading all quarterbacks with nine rushing touchdowns in addition to finishing behind only Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in quarterback rushing attempts (109). While the addition of Stefon Diggs may raise his potential, along with the return of familiar faces John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Devin Singletary, the signal-caller will have some tough challenges ahead in 2020 against some defensively sound squads. Though Tom Brady may now be a Buccaneer, the New England defense, especially the secondary unit, is still as good as ever. There is no reason to believe the 23-year-old will regress, but Buffalo's demanding schedule may not leave any room for an increase in statistical output either. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a mostly reliable week-to-week quarterback, Allen is your guy.
