Jose Quintana Should Provide Good Value In First Full Season With Cubs
7 years agoAcquired at the trade deadline from the White Sox as part of a package that included top prospect Eloy Jimenez, starting pitcher Jose Quintana saw his numbers improve with the Cubs. In 14 starts with the Cubs, Quintana saw his ERA improve from 4.49 to 3.76 and sports a 7-3 record. Quintana has been one of the most underrated pitchers in both real life and fantasy over the past few years and with a full season behind the Cubs stellar defense and high scoring offense, both his ERA and wins should improve. Quintana has top-25 value for starting pitchers in mixed leagues and it would not be a surprise at all if he outperforms that rank. His biggest flaw over the past few seasons was that he never got wins with the White Sox, but that has already changed in his short time with the Cubs. His combination of ERA, WHIP, K/9 and wins should be enough for fantasy owners to want to jump on Quintana entering 2018.
