Jordan Reed 2018 Outlook: Will He Finally Stay Healthy?
6 years agoEvery year the hype around Jordan Reed picks up in the offseason, yet each year Reed cannot seem to stay healthy and lets down the fantasy owners who drafted him. This year, you won't have to draft him as early and if he finally stays healthy, Reed could be the best value you get of any draft pick this season.
The Redskins will have Alex Smith under center now, instead of Kirk Cousins and Smith has always had productive tight ends on his teams including Vernon Davis and Travis Kelce. On Washington's offense, Reed may be among the leaders in targets if he's able to stay off of the injury report with Jamison Crowder being his main competition for targets.
Reed is averaging an eighth-round ADP, and if he returns to his early-career status then he'd be an absolute steal at that draft position. If he plays at least 14 games, he should be in the running as a TE1 with Smith tossing him the pigskin, and should have a chance to be a top-five tight end this season.
