Jonathan Ward 2022 Outlook: Third-Year RB Battling For Roster Spot
2 years agoRunning back Jonathan Ward has been used very sparingly in his two seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. He didn't see any carries in 14 games in his rookie season in 2020, but he did catch his only target for an 11-yard touchdown. In 13 games in 2021, Ward had nine carries for 33 yards and caught three of his four targets for 34 yards. The 24-year-old will be battling for a roster spot in training camp after the team signed Darrel Williams in free agency and drafted rookies Keaontay Ingram, T.J. Pledger and Ronnie Rivers. Chase Edmonds is now in Miami, but Arizona still has James Conner as their lead back and more depth with Eno Benjamin. Ward is well off the fantasy radar and isn't guaranteed a spot on the Cardinals' 53-man roster to open the season.
