Jonathan Mingo 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Worth Buying Into For Fantasy
2 years agoDespite being drafted way above his projection, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the Carolina Panthers' second-round pick, Ole Miss wide receiver Jonathan Mingo. It's always a good sign when you join the likes of A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf as second-round wideouts drafted out of Ole Miss in recent years. Everything out of Carolina's camp has been glowing about Mingo, and they think they drafted their future top WR option. Mingo's 6'2" 220lbs frame will be a perfect target for No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. Although Mingo will be stuck behind Adam Thielen and DJ Chark this season, he should be on the field for three wide receiver sets, eventually stepping into the void left by D.J. Moore. Mingo could have flashes of fantasy relevance this year, but consistent production may not come until next season, making him more of a pick in dynasty leagues.
