3/19:Preparing to embark on his first season with the Chicago Cubs, veteran outfielder Jon Jay is making a push for the starting center field role in one of Chicago’s spring position battles. The 32-year-old, who’s currently competing alongside Albert Almora for the aforementioned role, is hitting .306 through 36 plate appearances. While his RBI number isn’t jumping out, the crafty veteran manages to get hits, potentially making him a candidate to lead off in this lineup. While he still remains on the outside looking in when it comes to drafting, he could turn out to be a solid waiver wire pickup as the season rolls on.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
