John Kelly 2018 Outlook: A Star In The Making
6 years agoThough not a highly-touted draft pick like the backs taken ahead of him in this year's NFL Draft, John Kelly could have a career to match as he will be able to sit and learn from one of the top running backs in the NFL in Todd Gurley. Kelly may not be worth a look in redraft leagues, but is a great pick in dynasty starter drafts or rookie drafts to prepare for the future. As for this season, he will be a backup to one of the true bell cow backs in the league unless an injury occurs, in which case he has the running and receiving ability to be a top-15 back. He is not going to be of any significant value unless that occurs and should not be picked up on your team as of now. The only time this season to pick him up is as a playoff preparation move in case Gurley misses a game. Otherwise, leave the handcuff on the waiver wire.
