John Brown 2018 Outlook: Big Play Threat If Health Allows
6 years agoIn 2018, speedy wide receiver John Brown will take the field for the first time for a team other than the Arizona Cardinals. Brown signed a one-year, $5 million contract to help bolster a Baltimore Ravens receiver corps that was one of the weakest in the league in 2017. Brown has never been short on talent, boasting a 4.34 40-yard dash, but he has struggled with a litany of injuries over his career. Brown can be expected to fill the deep threat, field-stretcher role previously occupied by Mike Wallace in Baltimore's passing attack. Wallace pieced together two solid seasons with the Ravens, averaging 62 receptions, 882.5 yards, and four touchdowns. Brown, if healthy, could be primed for a bounce-back season, however, him remaining healthy is a definite concern. He's worth taking a flier on at the end of fantasy drafts as a high-upside, low-floor option.
