Jerian Grant 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoAfter the departure of point guard Elfrid Payton, the Orlando Magic brought in point guard Jerian Grant to battle for the point guard position. Grant, at 25-years-old, is entering his prime and coming off a season with the Chicago Bulls where he averaged career highs in points (8.4), assists (4.6), rebounds (2.3) and steals (0.9). Even if he starts the season as a backup, Grant showed he can be a serviceable fantasy point guard even in limited minutes. Grant posted a 4.14 assist-to-turnover ratio while coming off the bench in the 2017-18 season. Grant will have to compete with veteran point guard D.J. Augustin for the starting gig, but the Magic will be inclined to give the much younger Grant more run while they focus on development this year rather than contention.
