Jeff McNeil Pokes Three Singles, Swipes Bag In Rout
2 days agoNew York Mets second baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and his third stolen base of the year as the team buried the Chicago Cubs 10-1 on Thursday. It was the 31-year-old's 16th multi-hit display of the season. McNeil has been hitting second or third quite frequently of late, but that premium lineup placement hasn't boosted his fantasy value. The reigning National League batting champion somehow owns a lower slugging percentage (.368) than on-base percentage (.370). McNeil is now hitting .291 with 22 runs scored, two homers and 16 RBI this year. The table-setting contact hitter remains purely a source of batting average and run scoring in fantasy.
