7/12:Oakland Athletics second and third baseman Jed Lowrie will not play on Thursday. This appears to be a day of rest for the 34-year-old. Lowrie has quietly had an extremely productive 2018 season and is one of the largest reasons for Oakland's surprisingly successful year. The switch-hitter will be replaced by Chad Pinder, who hit a three-run homer on Wednesday. Pinder will not be an attractive DFS play even with the short porch in Houston because he has never faced Charlie Morton and isn't a very valuable fantasy option. Pinder will also hit seventh in the lineup, which is obviously not an attractive place to put him. Expect Lowrie to return to action when the Athletics face Madison Bumgarner and the Giants in the "Battle of the Bay" series on Friday.--Tommy Vaughn - RotoBaller
