Jarrett Culver 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoMinnesota used the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft to snag Jarrett Culver out of Texas Tech, where a breakout sophomore season spurred him near the top of many Draft boards. Despite shooting 30.4 percent from long range last year, there is a swath of optimism surrounding Culver at the professional level due to his elite athleticism. He has had considerable buzz around his fantasy prospects due to the reality that he’s likely to claim either the off-guard or small forward starting spot sooner rather than later alongside Andrew Wiggins. For owners comfortably deploying players who get chunks of minutes before proving their production, Culver will be seemingly right up that alley. He profiles as a deep-mid to late-round choice, but he certainly has the ceiling to finish with production far exceeding that slot. Most importantly, Minnesota will give him ample opportunities to prove himself from the get-go, making him an appealing fantasy option in traditional fantasy, as well as DFS.
