Jaren Jackson Jr. 2019-2020 Player Outlook
5 years agoMemphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. enters his second season as the face of the franchise when just a year ago he was a rookie behind two stalwarts in point guard Mike Conley and center Marc Gasol. Before a right quad injury ended Jackson Jr.'s season prematurely he was playing fairly well. Last season Triple J averaged 13.8 points and 4.7 boards a game. Jackson Jr. also shot the ball well too last year going 50.6 percent from the field, 76.7 percent from the charity stripe, and 35.9 percent from beyond the arc. Besides Jackson Jr.'s offensive production he also had 1.4 blocks and nearly a steal a contest. With both Conley and Gasol now not on the team Jackson Jr. should see his opportunities increase as the Grizzlies will look to rely on him as one of the team's primary offensive contributors. Fantasy players in season-long leagues will have to draft him early as he is currently slated to be a late fourth-round pick in most leagues. This isn't surprising considering that Jackson Jr.'s shooting percentages are good and he provides production on both ends of the court.
