Jaren Jackson Jr. 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoRookie power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. enters his first NBA season with the Memphis Grizzlies after one year at Michigan State. Jackson’s college averages of 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game don’t exactly jump of the page, but his 3.0 blocks per game, 39.6 three-point percentage and raw athleticism makes him a promising prospect. Jackson also gets the luxury of learning under veteran center Marc Gasol, who boasts a very similar skill set as Jackson. Jackson will have to battle with power forward JaMychal Green for the starting four spot and could end up coming off the bench to start the season. However, Jackson’s ability could push himself into the starting five sooner rather than later, especially if the team performs poorly. Jackson could very well find himself in the top-75, maybe even top-50, by the end of the season, but owners should expect a slow start.
