James Conner Outlook 2020: A Rebound On Tap?
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner will be entering the 2020 season on the final year of a rookie deal. After a breakout year in 2018 that included 13 total touchdowns, the 24-year-old regressed last season, appearing in only 10 games as a result of a shoulder injury. While he scored only four times on the ground in 2020, he did see an improvement as a receiver, collecting three touchdown passes, two more than he had during his sophomore campaign. With added pressure to improve the team's rushing attack, compiled with the selection of Maryland running back Anthony McFarland Jr. in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Conner will have additional motivation to produce in what could be his final year with the organization. However, with the Steelers having so many options out of the backfield, he may not get the chance to do so.
