2 years agoAfter a solid first start for the Philadelphia Phillies his last time out, Jake Thompson could not keep his team in the game as he took the loss in Anaheim against the Angels tonight. The 23-year-old had a relatively clean first two innings before running into disaster in the third frame. An error from second baseman Cesar Hernandez unleashed a seven-run inning, as the Halos hit three home runs. Thompson wouldn’t allow another hit in his final two innings of work, but the damage was clearly done, as the Angels won, 7-0. His record fell to 1-1 on the season, while his ERA climbed up to 4.20. The right-hander’s next start is scheduled for next Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
