2 years agoAs has been the usual case since he became a starter back in July, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jake Thompson only went five innings Tuesday, but he managed to pick up a victory. Taking on the NL East division champion Washington Nationals, the 23-year-old allowed just four hits and one run in his five innings of work, walking two and striking out five as well. This was Thompson’s third consecutive start of at least five innings with one run or less surrendered. While his last time out his start resulted in a no-decision, this time his offense did enough to earn him a win.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
