2 years agoMuch like last season, Jake Thompson has lacked distance this season, but has managed to put in quality in his abbreviated outings. Today, the 23-year-old allowed just one run on three hits and three walks, striking out three along the way. The start, which saw him labor to the tune of 91 pitches through his five innings of work, would result in a no-decision, as the affair turned out to be a back and forth game. Ultimately, the Phillies prevailed, 7-5, after nine runs were scored between both teams in the seventh and eighth innings. Thompson, meanwhile, maintains his 2-2 record this season, while his ERA falls to 4.14 on the year.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
