Hunter Renfrow 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Could Provide Fantasy Value Again
2 years agoLas Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow provided little fantasy value last season. He missed seven games with a concussion and abdomen muscle strain and finished the season with just 36 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. Renfrow had just one top-25 wide receiver fantasy finish in 2023 and averaged 7.6 PPR fantasy points per game. That poor showing came after a surprising 2021 fantasy season that saw Renfrow finish as the WR11 in PPR formats. But even despite the quarterback change to Jimmy Garoppolo, Renfrow could be a low-end flex play in 2023. Garoppolo-led offenses in the past have been built on short throws and letting receivers run after the catch. It worked in San Francisco, which could help Renfrow return to form this season. The 27-year-old slot receiver had the eighth most yards after the catch in the AFC in 2021 (452). He'll have Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers to compete with for targets in Las Vegas, but Renfrow shouldn't be any shortage of playing time in the slot this season. He's ranked 161st overall and WR66 on RotoBaller, but Renfrow has more fantasy value in PPR formats.
