8/12:Entering tonight’s game in a non-save situation, Philadelphia Phillies closer Hector Neris surrendering a ninth inning home run, as the Mets broke a tie to win the game. The 28-year-old allowed his first run this month, surrendering a home run to the first man he faced. He would go on to allow two more hits before escaping with just one run conceded. The performance is particularly disappointing considering how well Neris had looked as of late, with the notion being that he may have finally turned the corner. This performance brings him down a notch, once again displaying the inconsistency that has plagued him all year.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
