4/21:Getting his first opportunity of the season to prove he’s the man for the ninth inning, Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris retired the Mets in order in the bottom of the ninth to earn his first save of the season Thursday. The 27-year-old has been overlooked early on, as the Phillies have opted to go with Jeanmar Gomez and later Joaquin Benoit to handle the closer role, but Neris was given his chance tonight. For the season, Neris has now allowed two hits across 8 1/3 innings, striking out nine and walking just one. He clearly remains the top pitcher in Philadelphia’s bullpen and should be the team closer in the long run. If he's available in your league, he should be on a roster.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
