Greg Olsen 2020 Outlook: Turnaround On The Horizon?
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen finds himself on a new team after nearly a decade as a member of the Panthers. The veteran had multiples seasons of efficiency while in Carolina and was once a sought after tight end for many fantasy owners over the years. However, a foot injury would derail both his 2017 and 2018 seasons and put his future in the league in jeopardy. With rumors of retirement swirling, Olsen managed to suit up for the 2019 campaign and finished with 52 receptions for 597 yards and two scores throughout 14 games. While many thought that would be his last year in the league and transition into a role in television, the 35-year-old signed a one-year deal with Seattle in February. With Will Dissly's status uncertain moving ahead after he tore his Achilles early on in the 2019 regular season, Olsen will battle Jacob Hollister and 2020 fourth-round selection Colby Parkinson out of Stanford for snaps on a week-to-week basis. He will likely have a more prominent role over both Hollister and Parkinson, at least until Dissly returns, but it won't be enough to make a noticeable difference on the fantasy end in all fantasy formats, regardless of league size.
