Gerald Everett 2018 Player Outlook: Second-Year Tight End Looking To Improve
6 years agoLos Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett was used sparingly during his rookie season last year. Everett finished the season with just 16 receptions for 244 yards and two touchdowns despite playing for a high-scoring Rams offense. Everett should see more playing time heading into the 2018 season. At 240 pounds, Everett is better suited to operate as a pass-catching move tight end instead of lining up as a traditional in-line tight end, where he would be asked to block more often. That bodes well for his outlook as he should be on the field frequently in passing situations. That being said, Everett will be, at best, Jared Goff's fifth option when he drops back to pass, which limits his upside. Everett isn't going to win fantasy leagues this season but he could serve as an adequate streaming option in plus matchups.
