Aaron Sanchez Looking To Put Finger Woes In The Past
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez was quite a popular pick to take a leap forward into the territory of the elite in 2017. While his talent was certainly never an issue, unforeseen injury issues were. Sanchez dealt with nagging blister, fingernail, and finger lacerations issues all year long, hitting the disabled list a total of four times. The injuries limited Sanchez to only eight starts, and he never quite looked right as he pitched to an unfamiliar 4.25 ERA and 1.72 WHIP. His strikeout (6.00 K/9) and walk rates (5.00 BB/9) also worsened. Seemingly, the finger woes of 2017 are behind him, and he should be ready to build upon a 2016 that saw him finish with a 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in his first full year as a starting pitcher. If so, he stands a great chance to return excellent value in 2018.
