Dwayne Washington 2020 Outlook: Special Teams Stalwart With No Real Fantasy Appeal
5 years agoThe Saints re-signed special teams ace Dwayne Washington to a one-year deal in the offseason. The running back was selected in the seventh round of the 2016 draft by the Lions and actually carried the ball a career-high 90 times for 265 yards and one touchdown in his rookie season. But since then he's mainly just served as running back depth and on special teams for Detroit and New Orleans. In two years with the Saints, Washington has just 35 carries for 214 yards and no touchdowns. He caught one pass in 2019. The Saints are pretty set at running back, too, with Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray and Ty Montgomery ahead of Washington on the depth chart. Washington will likely go undrafted in the majority of leagues this fall.
