5/19:Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Doug Fister will have his deal finalized on Saturday and then will be sent to the minor leagues. Fister, whose signing was reported on Thursday, posted a 4.64 ERA with the Houston Astros in 2016 and has been pitching to college hitters to stay fresh. His best season was with the Nationals in 2014 when he posted a 2.41 ERA and won 16 games, but he has had an ERA over 4.00 in each of the last two seasons. Fantasy owners in deep mixed and AL-only formats should keep an eye on Fister when he makes his debut, but his ERA and 5.7 K/9 last season don’t inspire a lot of confidence. Mixed league owners can leave him alone until they see a few productive starts.--Chris Zolli - RotoBaller
