Devontez Walker 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Downfield Threat Could Crack Starting Rotation
6 months agoWide receiver Devontez Walker was taken by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He earned First Team All-MAC honors in his first year as a starter at Kent State, leading the team with 58 catches for 921 yards with 11 touchdowns. Walker then transferred to North Carolina but couldn't play until early October due to NCAA paperwork errors, but he still posted a 41-699-7 line in eight games before declaring. He's a massive downfield threat who has shown improvement in winning contested catches and adjusting to deep balls that are slightly off-route. Whether he can do enough with the rest of his route tree to earn consistent looks is another story. Baltimore's WR depth is thin, with most hoping Rashod Bateman can rebound this year. Beyond Zay Flowers, Bateman and Nelson Agholor could easily cede work to Walker, who is RotoBaller's WR99 in half-PPR with an early WR94 ADP.
