11 months agoThe San Francisco Giants have proven to the rest of the league that they aren't just a team full of washed-up veterans in 2018. The same team that has preached pitching and defense, and done it well, by winning three World Series Championships in five years, has a problem: pitching. The Giants lost ace Madison Bumgarner for a good chunk of the first half, and Johnny Cueto has been on and off of the disabled list for most of what has been a disappointing 2018 season for the Giants rotation. One of the few bright spots has been Dereck Rodriguez, who manager Bruce Bochy announced will start Friday against the A's. Rodriguez, a righty with flowing dark hair down to his shoulders, which is almost Lincecum-esque, will prove to Bochy he is indeed worthy of a spot in the rotation when he has a great appearance on Friday. Rodriguez is a great DFS option or streamer and is someone you should keep your eye on. The Giants have a natural affinity towards home-grown starting pitchers. The only thing more unpredictable than Hunter Strickland's meetings with a door is Jeff Samardzija's ERA, so Rodriguez really has an opportunity to steal a spot in the rotation when he pitches successfully on Friday. Pick Rodriguez up for a start on Friday, and plug him into your DFS lineups, because he will have a good outing.--Tommy Vaughn - RotoBaller
