Denard Robinson Fighting For Roster Spot, Safe to Avoid in All Formats
6 years agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson is firmly buried on the depth chart behind free-agent signee Chris Ivory and second-year youngster T.J. Yeldon. The former standout Michigan quarterback failed to shine in a handful of spot starts for an injured Yeldon last season, and all indications point to Robinson competing with second-year backup Corey Grant for the No. 3 running back spot. It's unlikely that Robinson will face any NFL discipline for his bizarre one-car accident from early July, but it's been a distraction the team would have likely preferred not to deal with. Even if Robinson makes the final roster, he shouldn't be considered as a draft pick in any fantasy leagues. He would only have fantasy value if Ivory or Yeldon (or both) suffered injuries, and even then, that value would be marginal at best.
