DeMar DeRozan 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoAs one of the biggest moves in the offseason, shooting guard DeMar DeRozan was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for forward Kawhi Leonard. DeRozan took on more of a distributor role last season, seeing a decrease of 4.3 points per game, but posting a career-high season average of 5.2 assists per game. DeRozan also made an effort to improve his three-point shooting, posting career-highs in both three-pointers made and attempted. Coming off his third-straight All-Star appearance, DeRozan will instantly become the co-number one option with veteran forward LaMarcus Aldridge. In coach Gregg Popovich’s system, it’s possible DeRozan continues to focus on distributing and playmaking while Aldridge does the heavy lifting as a go-to scorer. DeRozan is poised for another All-Star season as long as he can learn Popovich’s system.
