7 months agoThe Texas Rangers optioned outfielder Delino DeShields back to the minors on Friday night in order to make room for shortstop Elvis Andrus (hamstring), who will come off the injured list on Saturday. DeShields played the ninth inning as a defensive replacement on Friday. He was slashing .211/.318/.421 at Triple-A Nashville in nine games before being called up this week. DeShields has speed, but he hasn't been able to get on base frequently enough to help fantasy owners out while in the big leagues. He'll be back again this season, but you can leave him to the waiver wire for now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
