Deion Jones 2020 Outlook: A Solid LB Choice Once More
5 years agoAtlanta linebacker Deion Jones resumes his status as a top-25 IDP player in 2020 after a solid comeback season. Jones missed 10 games in 2018 due to injury, but picked back up where he left off by amassing 110 combined tackles, including eight for a loss, in 2019. Jones began his NFL career with back-to-back seasons over 100 combined tackles and should be a safe bet to do so again if healthy.
Fellow LB De'Vondre Campbell is gone to Arizona, which could put more on the shoulders of Jones. More opportunities should lead to more fantasy points. One area Jones could clean up a bit is missed tackles; his 13 MTkl ranked 24th among all defenders. Regardless, he will bring a high floor at the LB position week-in and week-out. He also has a knack for the big play, intercepting nine passes and returning four of those for a touchdown in the past four years. Our preseason IDP rankings have Jones inside the top 25 overall players and as a top-15 LB. At just 25 years of age, Jones is just entering his prime and figures to be a top IDP for years to come.
