Dawson Knox 2023 NFL Player Outlook: What Is His New Role?
2 years agoLet's start with the good news. In 2022, Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox signed a relatively lucrative deal (four-year, $53.6 million) that has him signed through 2025. The bad news is that the Bills drafted Dalton Kincaid (nicknamed Baby Kelce) with the 25th overall pick in the 2023 draft. Kincaid is an excellent receiving TE prospect and will likely increase Knox's role as a blocker. However, before the fantasy community starts freaking out about Kincaid, remember that rookie tight ends are notorious for having slow breakouts and limited production. As a result, despite being a year removed from a nine-TD season, Knox may need to be noticed in most fantasy formats. He caught 48 passes for 517 yards and six touchdowns over 15 games in 2022. Considering the tight end landscape is very limited, Knox's chemistry with Josh Allen on a high-powered offense makes him a nice last-round target at the position.
