2 years agoReliever David Phelps left the game on Sunday after only seven pitches with elbow discomfort, per seattletimes.com. Phelps was recently acquired from the Marlins to help shore up the bullpen as the Mariners make a run at the wild card in the American League. Phelps pitched a scoreless inning on Friday but mentioned to reporters after leaving Sunday that his arm "as soon as I get in the game, it's a little tight." Phelps missed time in 2015 with a stress fracture in his elbow so removing himself from the game on Sunday may just be a precautionary measure. Either way, Phelps may be destined for a brief disabled list stint forcing the Mariners to continue to juggle their pitching staff.--Joey C - RotoBaller
