Darrell Henderson 2020 Outlook: Very Talented Player You Can Completely Ignore
5 years agoI really like Darrell Henderson the player. I also understand that what I think about players doesn't matter. I may believe Henderson should have a 60% opportunity share in the Rams' rushing offense, but the Rams certainly don't agree - and that is what matters. Let me state this as bluntly as I can: no team in the NFL hates one of their own players more than the Rams hate Darrell Henderson. I don't know what he did. I don't know what may have happened behind the scenes. All I know is what we all see - the Rams will do anything other than give the ball to Henderson. The Rams had multiple opportunities to push Henderson last season either when Gurley was hurt, when Malcolm Brown was hurt, or late in games during blowouts. They never did. Henderson was only active for nine games. The most telling was the Week 15 blowout loss to Dallas where Henderson didn't play a snap. Then, after the Rams released Gurley, they brought back Brown and spent a second round pick on Cam Akers. Brown played well ahead of Henderson last season and they didn't burn a second rounder on Akers just for fun. Make no mistake about it, Henderson is third on this depth chart. There is nothing Henderson can do to be fantasy relevant. He will need at least one injury, if not two, and even then, the Rams will probably sign someone off the street or the practice squad just to avoid making Henderson the guy. I like the player, but he won't even be on my draft board in 2020.
