Darius Slayton 2020 Outlook: Looking For a Strong Sophomore Campaign
5 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton had a surprisingly strong rookie season in 2019 after he was forced into duty due to several injuries on the Giants offense. He developed a good rapport with quarterback Daniel Jones and should return as a starter in 2020. While he'll have more players to compete with for targets on offense since Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram should be healthy again, Slayton should still see plenty of snaps starting alongside Shepard and Golden Tate in three-wide sets. Neither Tate nor Shepard offer the long speed that Slayton does, so he should be able to develop a role as the team's deep threat. Slayton has a fairly wide range of outcomes for 2020, making him a better bet in best ball formats, but he should still be a solid option to look for in the middle rounds of drafts in standard formats as well.
