3 years agoStarting pitcher Danny Salazar was looking like a Cy Young Award contender when the first half of 2016 came to a close, going into the All-Star Break with a 10-3 record, 2.75 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 10.1 K/9 through 17 starts and 104.2 innings. But injuries and ineffectiveness turned his second half into a disaster, seeing him kill many a championship dream by limping to a 1-3 record and 7.44 ERA finish. An arm injury cost Salazar most of September, but he was able to return in the World Series to make a couple relief appearances. As long as he has his healthy coming into 2017, there's no reason to think he can't spin two solid halves into a whole.--Tony
