9/13:Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Daniel Nava was placed on the 60-day disabled list Wednesday with a back strain, ending his season. In a corresponding move, starting pitcher Henderson Alvarez had his contract selected from the minors. Nava hit well (.301, four homers, 21 RBI) in limited time for the Phils this year, but injuries kept setting him back. Alvarez is penciled in to start Sunday against the A's. The right-hander had intriguing upside back with Oakland, but he's much too risky considering this will be his first start in a major league game since May of 2015.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
