Daniel Jones Has Untapped Fantasy Value if Named Starter
5 years agoThe New York Giants might just have a quarterback controversy on their hands. After selecting Daniel Jones in the top-10 of the 2019 Draft, they have put the pressure on Eli Manning to step up. The team is tired of this recent stretch of mediocrity and want the best guy out there to help them compete. Although Manning is entrenched in Giants' lore with his contributions throughout this millennium, it is clear that he just does not have much game left. The team will likely allow him to start the season off as the starter, but if circumstances become even rockier than they've been, Jones will have the opportunity to take over. Jones is athletic and accurate. Despite his average arm strength, he is capable of getting the ball to where it needs to be to allow Saquon Barkley and the Giants' underrated playmakers (Tate, Shepard, Engram) to succeed. Jones can also win with his legs and could provide a solid chunk of yards and even rushing touchdowns from week-to-week. He's a fantastic grab as a late QB3 in best balls and a potential mainstay in season-long formats if named the starter by mid-season.
