Craig Reynolds 2022 Outlook: Diamond In The Rough Goes Back To The Rough
2 years agoDetroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds bounced around the league the first three years of his career, but he seems to have found a home in Detroit. After a failed experiment with the Washington Commanders and Jacksonville Jaguars, it seemed as though Reynolds would suffer the same fate in Detroit, however, when starters D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams both went down with injuries, Reynolds was called up from the practice squad and took advantage of the opportunity he was given. It became clear that Reynolds was the best running back that the team had left when he rushed for 83 yards on 11 carries (7.5 YPC) in Week 14, and then he followed that up with 26 carries for 112 yards in Week 15 (4.3 YPC). His 3.4 yards after contact per attempt was second only to Rashaad Penny out of all running backs with at least 50 carries. He remains firmly behind Swift and Williams in the running back pecking order, so he is not worth drafting, but he should be a name at the top of your waiver wire list because Swift and Williams are not known for their durability, and Reynolds has shown that he has the skills needed to be an effective running back for your fantasy team when his number is called.
