Cowboys To Be Aggressive In Re-Signing Amari Cooper
5 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys will be aggressive in trying to re-sign impending free-agent wide receiver Amari Cooper. Now that the Cowboys used the franchise tag on quarterback Dak Prescott, as expected, it's looking like Cooper will hit the open market on Wednesday. But the Cowboys will make a strong run at retaining him after he posted his third 1,000-yard season with 79 catches and eight touchdowns in 2019. The 25-year-old is definitely a WR1 and has plenty of upside in Dallas with Prescott throwing him the ball, so going elsewhere in free agency could make him more of a risky WR1 target, depending on where he lands.
