3 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys have been working on a deal to re-sign wide receiver Michael Gallup, and a deal is considered "close," according to sources. There is hope that the two sides can get something done. This comes after a report Friday morning that the Cowboys are likely to trade or release Amari Cooper. The Cowboys are obviously comfortable with Gallup's rehab after he suffered a torn ACL late in the 2021 season. They plan to use the savings on Cooper to bring back both Gallup and Cedrick Wilson, who is also scheduled to become a free agent in several weeks. There is optimism that Gallup will be ready for the 2022 regular season, but he'll have to monitor his progress during training camp. He could very well be Dallas' No. 2 wideout behind CeeDee Lamb next season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
