Corey Clement 2018 Player Outlook: Second-Year Back Looks To Build Upon Postseason Success
6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Corey Clement was not a household name during the 2017 regular season. The undrafted rookie out of the University of Wisconsin-Madison saw 84 touches during the regular season, turning those into 444 yards and six touchdowns. He is best remembered for his performance in the Super Bowl, where he caught four passes for 100 yards and a score. Postseason heroics aside, the Eagles believe strongly in using a committee at the running back position, which will cap Clement's upside. Jay Ajayi will operate as the team's early-down back while veteran Darren Sproles will be back for one more season as the team's third-down pass-catcher. That leaves Clement to fill in the gaps and do a little of both. While he doesn't have much standalone value in fantasy, an injury to either Ajayi or Sproles could propel Clement into a role which would make him an every week fantasy starter. He's a solid late-round target in drafts.
