Cordarrelle Patterson 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Little Fantasy Value In Atlanta's Crowded Backfield, Even At Small Price
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson has been a surprising fantasy player over the past two seasons. In 2021, Patterson had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and finished as the RB9 in PPR leagues. In 2022, he finished with a career-high eight rushing touchdowns in 13 games, averaging 11.9 PPR fantasy points per game. Over the past two years, Patterson has been a weekly fantasy starter with the Falcons. However, things will likely be different this season after the arrival of Bijan Robinson. The Falcons spent the 8th overall pick on Robinson, which hurts Patterson's fantasy value in 2023. With Robinson as the lead back and Tyler Allgeier as the backup, Patterson will have limited upside this season. Over the past two seasons, the veteran running back was a threat on the ground and through the air, but he might see few opportunities to thrive in the Falcons' offense. In Atlanta's stacked running back room, Patterson likely will only be fantasy relevant this year if the team decides to trade or release him this summer. He's ranked 136th overall and RB48 in the latest RotoBaller rankings.
