Conor Gillaspie Activated From Disabled List
5 years agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Conor Gillaspie (back) has been activated from the 10-day disabled list. Gillaspie had missed the teams last 32 games with back spasms. He will go straight to work batting in the seventh spot this evening, replacing infielder/outfielder Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) who was placed on the 10-day disabled list prior to Friday's contest. Gillaspie hit .296 over 27 at-bats during his rehab assignment and is looking to take over the everyday third base job with Nunez out. Infielder Aaron Hill should also be in the third base mix. Gillaspie is a career .252 hitter in parts of eight seasons in the major leagues and offers some pop in his bat. He is someone to keep an eye on in NL-Only leagues.
