3 years agoCloser Cody Allen had a rough 2016, but you wouldn't know it just by taking a look at his stats. He finished the year 3-5 with a 2.51 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 11.5 K/9 and 32 saves, which isn't all that out of line with his 2015 season. But his year-long owners aren't likely to forget his awful April when he finished the month with a 6.97 ERA. He then had to perform at a high enough level to keep mega-closer Andrew Miller--acquired in a deadline trade--from taking his job, something he was able to do thanks to a 2.15 ERA and .141 average against in the second half. The closer job is still Allen's, but anyone drafting him in 2017 would do well getting Miller too, one of the only handcuff players that is a must-own in fantasy baseball.--Tony
