5/31:After Jake Arrieta’s seven shutout innings weren’t enough, Clayton Richard was summoned from the bullpen in the eighth inning of a scoreless game. Richard surrendered three straight hits to lead off the frame, giving up a run and quickly getting the hook. Adam Warren was the next man up, and while he’s been effective for the most part in 2016, the damage was too much. Warren would not surrender additional hits, but a sacrifice fly doubled Los Angeles’ lead. He came back out for the ninth and like Richard, gave up a pair of hits to lead off. Tim Cahill entered the game, but the Cubs’ bullpen’s fate was sealed. A three-run home run increased the Dodgers lead to 5-0 and the defeat was complete. The bullpen's performance was especially disappointing following yesterday's seven perfect innings.--Ricky Delgado - RotoBaller
